§ 18B-4. Appointment of counsel.

  • If a child has been brought before the court for an offense of the Municipal Code that for an adult is punishable by a jail sentence; (a) the child or his/her parent(s) may request an attorney and if the child or parent(s) fail to have sufficient financial means, counsel shall be appointed by the court; or (b) the court may appoint counsel without such request if it deems representation by counsel is necessary to protect the interest of the child or other parties.
